About the Role

You will be working as part of an innovative and dynamic team and are committed to supporting and promoting the diverse and amazing activities offered through City of Palmerston's Community Plan. Working with the Communications Manager, you will be responsible for developing and supporting a range of deliverables that contribute to the outcomes set out in City of Palmerston’s Community Plan. This includes:

 

  • Organisational branding
  • Promotion of all Council services, programs and events
  • Graphic design
  • Photography and image collation
  • Written communications
  • Video content creation and/or management
  • Major publications

 

About you

You have qualifications in communications, public relations or marketing with substantial experience in a similar role. You are passionate about delivering services to the community and are open to learn and grow to develop your interpersonal skills in a supportive environment.

What you need:

  • Excellent skills within the Adobe Creative Cloud suite including Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign and Web Content Management Systems
  • A quality driven team player who supports Council’s Customer Service Charter
  • Excellent organisational, planning and time management skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and easily adapt to a fast pace and changing environment
  • Experience delivering creative and corporate designs in a Local Government or similar environment
  • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills and an understanding of contemporary language to be used in a Local Government or similar setting
  • Extensive experience developing media content in a variety of platforms
  • The proven ability to conceptualise and develop creative material across varied platforms utilising graphic design, video and audio
  • Demonstrated understanding of branding with the ability to deliver consistency across all areas
  • Demonstrated strong stakeholder management skills and foster positive working relationships with a diverse range of people
  • Strong commitment to customer service, professionalism, community, enthusiasm, and motivation
  • Demonstrated effective project management skills
  • The ability to various events outside of business hours
