About the Opportunity    

As the IT and Network Support Officer, you will work on a range of programs and services that contribute to the delivery of the City of Palmerston Community Plan including:

  • Networks and Corporate applications
  • Help Desk
  • Information Technology (IT)
  • Communications Systems

You will administer and support the operations of City of Palmerston's Information Technology Systems and Network while ensuring high quality customer service to all stakeholders and first line technical support and troubleshooting to system/software users.

About You

You will be experienced, well organised, personable and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

In addition, you will have the following:

  • Demonstrated ability to deal with clients in a positive and professional manner and provide first line technical support and troubleshooting to IT systems.
  • Previous work experience in administering an IT Environment. 
  • Demonstrated experience in Microsoft Windows Server maintenance and administration, support of Exchange, Active Directory  SQL Server.
  • High level of accuracy, thoroughness and attention to detail and excellent time management skills.
  • Demonstrated strong customer focus with sound verbal and written communication skills and highly developed interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications.
  • Relevant industry certification, qualification, diploma or degree in Information Technology.
  • Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft Office 365 environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a wide range of customers.
  • Prior experience in a local government setting or as a service provider to local government
  • Customer centric approach for all technical support provided to customers.
