About the Opportunity    

The Administration Officer is located within the Regulatory Services business unit and reports directly to the Regulatory Services Manager.  This is an approximately 12 month opportunity, available while the current occupant is on Parental Leave. Activities include, but are not limited to, general administration support, records management, customer service,  agenda and minute preparation and diary management.

You will be required to take a dynamic approach to administration, ensuring high quality, accurate and timely delivery of all facets of your work. You will be calm, flexible, understanding, organised, able to work under pressure and be available after hours as required.

Key responsibilities include, but, not limited to:

  • Provide accurate and timely administrative support including producing documentation, data integrity and records management.
  • Provide administrative support for various committees and stakeholder groups, including preparation of agendas and minutes.
  • Maintain accurate data systems for use in the compilation of reports for the business unit, including the first draft of management reports.
  • Undertake basic research and provide assistance to the Unit in the development of reports.
  • Respond to enquiries regarding Regulatory Service matters from internal and external stake holders.
  • In consultation with the team, participate in reviews of administrative workplace practices and procedures to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the delivery of events and community education activities

What Council is looking for:

  • Demonstrated previous experience in performing administrative tasks with high attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines.
  • Competency in the use of Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Spreadsheets, Word Processing and Database information.
  • Ability to receive and participate in on the job training.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and demonstrated experience in a customer focused service role.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and exercise initiative in the application of established work procedures.

This position is full-time, 12 month opportunity that is paid at Level 3 ($68,315 - $72,095 + Super). Council offers six weeks annual leave and a wide range of attractive employee benefits.
